Happy Isles

Happy Isles is the start of the Vernal/Nevada Falls trail and the northern terminus of the John Muir Trail. The best way to get there is to take the free park shuttle. Because Dogwood scenes like this are available pretty much anywhere in Yosemite Valley when the they're in bloom, more useful than directions would be timing. The onset of dogwood bloom in Yosemite Valley varies from year-to-year, but usually arrives between mid-April and mid-May. If the Valley dogwood bloom is past its peak when you arrive, head for higher ground where the dogwood bloom later.
