Yosemite in Spring, Moonrise, Moonlight, and Moonbow
There’s nothing quite like Yosemite Valley by moonlight. Shimmering moonbow, constellations suspended above moonlit granite, and a rising full moon are all experiences not to be missed. In this workshop, I'll put you in position to capture them, and show you how to do it.
A full moon occurs during this workshop, ideally positioned for a memorable moonlight experience. We'll also photograph moonrise and moonset, and everyone will have a great chance to photograph the elusive moonbow only possible at Yosemite Falls during its peak spring flow, when the moon is full.
Of course moonlight photography offers a unique set of challenges that range from exposure considerations to knowing exactly where the moon will be and when it will be there, but I'll be there to help with that. In addition to our moonlight photography, there will be ample opportunity to photograph Yosemite’s classic scenes in the best daytime light. And there will be time for training, both in the field and in a classroom, and image review.
